Welcome Blog: The First of Many!

Here you will find updates on what we do, latest trends in sports, and more importantly what we are striving for and have done to make a real tangible impact. This ambition we articulate is our calling card to help individuals, groups, and having a family first approach to tackle issues and develop relationships on each journey we take, each camino. Many of us in sports may relate to the fact that either before a career or post-career, education plays a pivotal role in our development. From how to deal with the media, having a side hustle while in your sport, or moving away completely; having knowledge beforehand or advice is always the first step into making these decisions.

Camino City itself was launched for a variety of reasons, vital ones in truth, and for the purpose to give rather than take – or even to take and inch and give a mile. Camino itself translates to “path” in Spanish, and the word is also very similar to other languages such as in Portuguese of Caminho or Catalan of Cami. A word that gets thrown around quite often during games, interviews, or in everyday life. It’s safe to say everybody has their own path to carve and, in the process, it can be challenging to when you do not know the destination in its entirety. Camino City will do just that, looking at the journey and not forgetting where you come from while striving forward.

“It’s been my calling card and purpose to be a helping hand to others and knowing myself during the process before doing so. From my journey in the likes of Spain, to North America in the US, and Canada, South America in Colombia or back home in England, in the end we have our own path, yet together in the process”.

…“I have spent years gaining valuable insights at the absolute elite level and completed my first-class degrees back home in Manchester. The main thing I always valued was seeing things from top to bottom, being humble, and trying to go beyond what you can imagine”.

“You need to step out of your comfort zone. Have moments when you are nervous, but simultaneously you know you belong. Adapt, learn a language or culture, and believe in yourself. There will times you are stuck, in and outside sports, so you have to give your everything while you can”.

“Before creating Camino City, there is a story and my own journey to arrive to this point. I decided back in 2019 to create my own blogs and upload other pictures and videos of what I was doing, experiencing. I think most people who know me always say I travel the world and so fortunate to have the insight I’ve had. Many ask however, how?”.

“First, I reply and say I was an Au Pair (almost like a nanny). Not many get into the world of sports through childcare. I either get asked what an Au Pair is, or that they did not know boys could also look after kids properly. For me, it was always like being part of the family or a big brother – and I learnt so much from the diverse ways of life, languages or dialects, and in a nutshell growing up to be a proper adult”.

“The main goal for me in the beginning was to just go abroad, improve my knowledge, and see where it leads me. It just happened to be that I were to go on to have incredible insights of the biggest clubs in world football, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona academies for instance. Both of my host boys played in their respective academies; I went from playing FIFA as a kid to actually seeing what is entailed for the youth. Even now, it’s taken years of sacrifice, and seeing it from the lens of parents is what I knew at the time not many people could begin to understand unless you have been there and seen it first hand.

First and foremost, care will be at the forefront at what we do, and deservedly so is in front of consultancy. However, both complement each other and come in tandem.

The logo for our care and consultancy company is inspired by the steps on the journey throughout life in and outside of sports. The slightly tilted crown is also a resemblance to accomplishment through endeavours, and the constant need to reset and climb again. It is incidentally a remake of the most successful young artist and his album cover, which originally was a scar to raise awareness to self-harm and above all to seek support. For our sports agency, care is as important as ever with the need to tackle the many issues including, external pressures, relocation, and education. Even in the professional realm, workload is without doubt in the media and in research. The journey in sports and life is about going from nothing to something to something to everything.
