More About Mia Forney

A younger sister to a college athlete, Mia has found her own on the field as one of the most explosive and dynamic wingers in United States youth soccer. Alongside her accolades, her unselfish and easy on the eye play attracts attention, especially in a position lacking in pacey yet decisive wing play. Mia to note can additionally play further afield centrally or alternate from right to left, which allows for various styles of play to be utilized to stretch backlines or play on the counterattack.

Mid Atlantic High School Roundup – November

At 24 and 1, the Patriots have been one of the best teams in the country. Kiera Sleicher, Ava Mignon, Mia Forney, Jesse Bernabe, Mikayla Gray, and Taylor Roumy give this team plenty of star power.

For a quartet of sophomores at CB East, it’s a legacy they try to live up to while making their names their own.

Two years ago, Mia Forney, Ava Mignon and twins Ella and Taylor Roumy watched their older sisters – Eliot Forney, Sofia Mignon and Brooke Roumy – play for a District 1 championship. The older sisters came up a goal short of a trophy in 2022 but had left the program in a strong place for their younger sisters to step into.

In legal terms, “possession is nine-tenths of the law” basically means someone physically in control of something has a stronger claim to it than someone just saying they own it.
In soccer terms, it’s not too far off from that. A team that controls the ball has a much stronger claim to the eventual result than the one that’s chasing after the ball trying to claim it back as their own. The more a team keeps the ball, the more chances they can generate and, in theory, the more goals they’ll score.

Last year, the Patriots were the only team to take points off the Rams through a 1-1 draw against the eventual SOL, District 1 and PIAA champions. This year, they’ve already claimed more though the margin for doing so has been razor thin. East claimed its second one-goal win over Pennridge – marking the defending champions’ only two losses this fall – and moved a full two games clear in the SOL Colonial table.
